Faruk Duman: Night Music for Dogs

A prose writer and an essayist, born in 1974 in Ardahan in the northeast of the country. He studied library science in Ankara, he works as an editor in one of the largest Turkish publishing houses, Can. He writes novels, short stories, essays and books for children. Every title brings him appreciation and the reader’s success. He has published, among other things, short stories Av Dönüşleri [Return from the Hunt], Keder Atlısı [The Sad Rider], the essay book Adasız Deniz [Sea Without Islands] and the novels İncir Tarihi [The History of the Figs] and Köpekler İçin Gece Müziği [Night Music for Dogs]. The story of the last-mentioned book highlights the ecological problems of contemporary Turkey and the ruthless, utilitarian approach of some of its politicians to nature conservation.
