The author of poetry, prose and essays. She was born in 1972 and graduated from the Department of Journalism at Istanbul University. After having worked as a journalist for several media companies and publishing houses, she has been a freelance writer since 2003. She publishes essays, literary criticism, travel journals and other articles in various Turkish media. Özer has written a novel, 17 Haziran [17th June], but mainly she is devoted to poetry. Readers are especially captivated by her haikus, which she collected in the book Cam Kulübeler [Haikus, Roll], and for which she has also won the Special Prize at the prestigious Boğaziçi Book Fair Haiku Competition. Her poetry has been published in other collections, e.g., Atlasın Bir Ucunda [At the Foot of Atlas].
